Safety of School Children is Paramount - Savage

Sinn Féin Councillor Kevin Savage has said that the safety of school children is paramount when scheduling gritting routes. Speaking as snow falls across Upper Bann and in anticipation of Storm Emma he said: "Following complaints from parents I contacted the Department for Infrastructure on Wednesday morning. "Children attending both Gilford Primary School and St Johns Primary School, which are both on Castle Hill in Gilford, are facing the most treacherous of conditions. "These conditions have caused major difficulties for those navigating the hill. "I have asked that urgent consideration be given to the treating of Castle Hill Road over the next few days given the weather we are expecting and for it to be treated as a priority when inclement weather is expected. "I have asked the Department for an urgent response."
