Councillor Mackle Expresses Concern at Delay in Treatment for Breast Cancer Patients

Published: 12 January, 2018

He said:

"I have recently been contacted by a number of distressed relatives and patients who are facing delays in treatment following diagnosis of breast cancer.

"There is a very real clinical necessity for treatment, including surgery, to be delivered as quickly as possible following diagnosis.

"This is already a very difficult time for patients and their families and is compounded by the delays in treatment. The Southern Trust need to make this issue a priority and ensure these women get treated as soon as possible. I have contacted the Trust and await their response."
