Sinn Féin Westminster candidate John O' Dowd has said the upcoming Westminster election is about Brexit and about reminding Arlene Foster and the DUP there is no going back to the status quo.

"The Assembly election on the 2nd of March brought about fundamental change in the North. The unionist majority was ended and for the first time progressive parties are now in the majority.

"However, we in Sinn Fein do not seek domination, we seek liberation. We want to be liberated from Tory austerity, partition and Brexit all of which has been or will be an unmitigated disaster for the people of this island

"We want to share power with Unionism but power sharing has to be on the basis of equality, rights and integrity at the heart of government. All citizens regardless of class, creed, sexuality or gender must be protected by any future power sharing Executive and served by that power sharing Executive.

Concluding Mr O' Dowd said:

"A strong vote for Sinn Féin will reverberate around the halls of Westminster in the corridors of power in Dublin and Brussels and will be heard by Theresa May much louder and longer than any MP sitting in an empty Westminster chamber.

"A strong progressive vote at this election will strengthen our hand in the negotiations that will follow and will remind the DUP you haven't forgotten about the scandalous waste of public money through the RHI scheme and the arrogance that followed.
