Cllr. McKeown calls for dog fouling and rubbish bins in rural area.

Sinn Féin Cllr. Brian McKeown has called for the erection of dog fouling and rubbish bins along the Moy, Drumanphy and Derrylettiff roads.

Mr McKeown made the call following representations from both residents of the area and people who walk these roads on a regular basis. The Portadown Councillor said,

"The circular route along the Moy, Drumanphy and Derrylettiff roads has become a popular walk for many people in the evenings and a number of these walkers along with residents from the Drumanphy Road approached me about the lack of litter and dog fouling bins. Following these approaches I personally travelled this route roads to see for myself and I was surprised at the amount of discarded litter and dog foulings."

Cllr. Brian McKeown concluded,

"I have been in contact with Environmental Services to ask them to check out the feasibility of having litter and dog fouling bins placed at reasonable distances along this route. In the meantime I would appeal to those who use these roads either for recreational or fitness walking to respect the countryside and take their litter and foulings to the nearest suitable bin. This is an attractive area and this route is both convenient and relaxing. It is in all our interests to keep it clean and tidy."
